How do I call someone?

Everyone on Kol has a six-character ID. Ask for theirs, then tap + → Call by ID and enter it. Or send them your link (Invite someone on the home screen): when they open it, Kol offers to call you.

Once you're connected, hold the big button to talk and let go to listen.

How do I use Kol on my computer?

Open Kol in your browser on the computer. It shows a code and a QR code. On your phone, open Kol → Settings → Link a computer, and scan the code (or type it). The computer then uses your ID and contacts.

Your ID works on one device at a time, so while Kol is open on the computer, your phone waits, and the other way round.

I don't get notified on iPhone when someone calls

When Kol is closed, a call arrives as a notification ("Dana wants to talk"). Tap it to open Kol and answer. If nothing shows up:

Settings → Notifications → Kol: turn on Allow Notifications, and Time Sensitive Notifications.
If you use a Focus mode, allow Kol in it.
In Kol, check that Do not disturb is off.
Open Kol once after installing or updating, so it can register for notifications.

I reinstalled Kol. Can I get my ID back?

Usually it comes back by itself: when you open Kol again you'll see "Welcome back" with your ID, name and contacts.

iPhone: this uses your Keychain, so it works on the same phone, and on a new phone restored from your backup.
Android: the phone needs to be signed in to a Google account.

If you used Delete my data, the ID is gone for good and you'll get a new one.

How do I mute or remove an AI from a call?

Tap the amber "is listening" label at the top of the call. Anyone in the call can mute the AI, unmute it, or (in a group) remove it.

How do I delete my data?

In Kol, go to Settings → Delete my data. This gives your ID back, deletes your data from our servers, and erases everything on the phone. It can't be undone. If you can't open the app, email privacy@kol-ai.app with your ID.
